Location: Arcata, CA
Job Title: Med Surg RN
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00am - 7:30pm
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
Pay Rate: $60-$63/hr
As a Med Surg RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to established policies and procedures. Your primary focus will be on monitoring and managing patients' acute and chronic medical conditions, administering medication, and providing education to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess patients' medical conditions and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust care plans as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatments, and self-care practices
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active RN license in the state of California
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care
